How can I help you?

If you've had a look at my bio, you'll see that I have not followed a conventional career path. My life has been full of pursued passions and, as a result, unexpected adventures and life lessons. There have been a few obstacles as well. By and large, I've liked it that way.

I live for creative solutions to weird problems.

I want to help people who have an exciting vision that they want to make happen, one that will make a perceptible, positive difference to the world. That, or remind people that their everyday lives are just that, an everyday routine, and if they can get their noses up off the grindstone for a second, there is so much more to the universe than they ever imagined. If your business is wonder, or learning, or healing, I want to help you.

I'm looking for new challenges and I'm ready to help you. What do you need to get sorted? Crazier the better. Come at me.

I have a wide variety of interests and an ability to make connections between them, and I love learning and adding to my skills.

Those skills already include:
  • Drawing, primarily cartoon-style and product design sketches.
  • Preparing art and photographs for use online and for other applications.
  • Ability to creatively use a wide variety of tools and materials.
  • Working with Macs and many standard pieces of office equipment. Basic troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with a number of Adobe Creative Suite applications, including Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, InDesign, and Acrobat.
  • Familiarity with Word and Excel.
  • Experience working with on-line and cloud software applications like Dropbox, Shopify, Wordpress, Skype and others.
  • Able to work with HTML and CSS.
  • Basic web design and maintenance.
  • Ability to work with teams that span multiple locations and time zones, working remotely.
My good qualities include:
  • An unending curiosity about the world and a desire to learn new things.
  • Resourcefulness.
  • Inventiveness.
  • No fear of deadlines. I've met them for years.
  • An enthusiasm for technology coupled with a healthy skepticism about its value in every circumstance.
  • Patience with things and people. With situations, not so much. I prefer to fix those when I can.
  • Tenacity. I have worked on a timeline of years when I've had to.
  • A sincere desire to make good things happen.
  • A love of "going for the "WOW!". I love it when I can participate in something that takes people out of their everyday lives, even for a moment, for a little wonder, amusement, pleasure, or joy.
  • A sometimes dark and twisted sense of humour.
My bad qualities include:
  • A sometimes dark and twisted sense of humour.
  • Poor office coffee-making skills and a certain indifference to improving them.
  • Blue-collar style in a white-collar world. I'm a maker and I dress appropriately. If it can't be done in workshirts, jeans and boots, it isn't worth doing, even if I do look cute in bow ties. They're for special occasions. Like profile pictures.
  • A proven inability to be micromanaged for any length of time and retain a good attitude.

I'm standing by to help you. Just don't ask me to make the coffee. That's a mistake.
